What's in a kid's pack?

A crew of volunteers headed by Nancy Baird and Sandi Dowell from Marine View will meet at the Baird home Tuesday afternoon to assemble 160 "kids packs" for the mission team to take down - enough for every school child in the mountainous village of Xoxlac to have one.

These packs include sanitary items like toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap, but also include toys and school supplies. Eugene Choy donated toothbrushes and toothpaste. Team member Reuben Week's dentist donated toothbrushes and floss. Joe Martin donated toothpaste. The MVPC Women's Ministries donated soap bars, and Tacoma Lawn Tennis Club and Dave Noll donated tennis balls. School supplies and fun things were purchased.

Additionally, the mission team will take down a supply of Bibles to share. Each team member is bringing along an extra large suitcase or duffel bag to haul the kid packs and will pay an extra luggage fee, but just one way. The extra luggage will be left in Guatemala.
